About the Costa Blanca

About the Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca is a great place to live and work. With over 300 days a year of sunshine and the blue Mediterranean close at hand it's a great place for families to work together and play together. The Spanish economy in recent years has shown strong growth.

Leisure activities include golf, tennis, walking, cycling, climbing and watersports - wind and kite surfing, sailing, waterskiing, diving or just relaxing in a local pavement bar sipping the local wine and watching the world go by.

The emergence of Valencia as a leading sporting city with its world class football teams and the Americas' Cup and European F1 Grand Prix is bringing huge investment to the area. As well as the Spanish population there is a large expatriate community and holiday visitors come to the sunny Costa Blanca all the year round.

Current indications are that more Brits will choose to live and holiday here in Spain over the next ten years. The communities along the coast are all very different and appeal to different sectors. Traditionally there is a large community of Germans and Dutch as well as English.

Costa Blanca

Denia and Javea

A working town with a busy port with ferry links to Ibiza and Majorca. Eight miles of sandy beaches with bars and restaurants of all nationalities on the coastal strip. Javea is a favourite holiday town for British and Spanish alike. Javea Old Town is typically Spanish. Javea Port attracts locals and holidaymakers and bars, restaurants and cafes line the popular Arenal beach.

Moraira and Calpe

Moraira and Calpe are very much holiday towns which bustle in the summer season. There is a large expatriate community living in villas and apartments along the coast and a wide selection of businesses to provide for their needs.

Altea, Alfaz del Pi and Albir

Just north of the holiday hotspot of Benidorm Altea, Alfaz and Albir attract expatriate families and retirees from all over Europe. The pace of life is much slower than in Benidorm with a wide range of bars restaurants and other businesses

Benidorm and Villajoyosa

Benidorm is a year round holiday hotspot with over 5 million visitors annually. Its bars and restaurants are busy and exciting and many offer entertainment and stay open late into the night. Bars and restaurants have built up their regulars as holidaymakers return year after year.

Santa Pola and Torrevieja

South of Alicante, newer urbanisations and developments offer potential for businesses catering to these new communities. This is fast becoming a major golf destination with a new Murcia airport with many connections to the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe
